Example workshop “Public sector buildings”

Together with Wikipedian Diego Hättenschwiler and SBB Historic, the PTT Archive held a workshop in the summer of 2019 on the topic “public sector buildings”. For this project we used historical photographs and literature on public sector buildings such as post offices, train stations and other buildings occupied by the formerly state-owned enterprises PTT and SBB.

Photographers also submitted current images of such buildings with a view to comparing their photographs with historical ones.

Anyone who wished to take part in the Wikipedia exchange was welcome. Instead of searching online in a bid to answer technical questions, the workshop gave its participants an opportunity to ask other Wikipedians face to face. Wikipedia workshops could also be termed open editing labs or writing workshops. Novices are also welcome.
